Colposcopy

Description

Colposcopy is a specialized examination of the cervix performed when abnormal findings, such as an abnormal Pap smear or HPV test, require further evaluation. Using a colposcope, the cervical tissue can be examined under high magnification, allowing even subtle changes to be detected. If necessary, small tissue samples (biopsies) can be taken for further analysis. The procedure is generally well tolerated and helps ensure early diagnosis and appropriate treatment of cervical cell changes.
